A large collection of fine art, Pre-Colombian, Ancient, Japanese, and Chinese antiques, from the Eric Jansson Collection. In the 1980s, Eric Jansson closely observed the dramatic political and economic changes taking place in the Soviet Union. He was particularly fascinated by Mikhail Gorbachev’s policies of Glasnost and Perestroika, which opened new possibilities for reform and international engagement. From 1989 to 1994, Eric took an active role in these historic shifts by investing in and working with Sibir Inc. USA, a company with offices in both the United States and Moscow. His work brought him to numerous cities across the former Soviet Union, including Moscow, Leningrad (now St. Petersburg), Tbilisi (Georgia), and Kyiv (Ukraine), where he explored emerging trade and business opportunities. During this time, Eric also developed a deep appreciation for Russian art. Alongside a business partner with an art degree from Moscow University, he began supporting and investing in contemporary Russian artists. Since 1989, he has built a reputation as a knowledgeable collector of Russian art and has remained actively engaged in the field.
