The icon depicts Virgin Mary breastfeeding Jesus. Four saints are depicted on the kovcheg. Titled in Church Slavonic. This iconography emerged in 3rd century in the Roman catacombs, yet it only became widespread in Russian icon painting in the 16th-17th centuries.
