Lot 0190: ATTR TO DAVID BURLIUK LANDSCAPE WATERCOLOR PAINTING

Attributed to David Burliuk, Russian, 1882 to 1967, a watercolor painting on paper. Titled Autumn landscape. The artwork depicts a landscape with a house. Signed and dated 1929 in the lower left. Matted and framed by an ornate gilded wooden frame. Bears a metal plate lower in the center, engraved with a title and artists name. David Davidovich Burliuk was a poet, artist and publicist associated with the Futurist and Neo Primitivist movements. At the outbreak of World War I, the artist fled to Siberia then Japan before relocating to New York in 1922. His works are held in the collections of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, D.C., and the State Russian Museum in St. Petersburg, among others. Bears a label from World Auction Gallery on the back side. Provenance: Estate of Eric Jansson, Roswell, Georgia. Collectible Mid Century Fine Art, Landscape Paitings.
