Lot 0188: ATTR TO DAVID BURLIUK RUSSIAN STILL LIFE OIL PAINTING

Attributed to David Burliuk, Russian, 1882 to 1967, an oil on board painting. The artwork depicts a seaside still life with flowers. Signed in the lower left. Additionally signed and inscribed on the back side. Framed by a gilded wooden frame. David Davidovich Burliuk was a poet, artist and publicist associated with the Futurist and Neo Primitivist movements. At the outbreak of World War I, the artist fled to Siberia then Japan before relocating to New York in 1922. His works are held in the collections of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, D.C., and the State Russian Museum in St. Petersburg, among others.
