Lot 0186: ATTR TO DAVID BURLIUK COLOR PENCIL LANDSCAPE PAINTING
Attributed to David Burliuk, Russian, 1882 to 1967, a color pencil on paper landscape painting. Depicts a bridge view over a river with a vintage car, a line of utility poles and wires extending into the distance on the left. Signed and dated 1930, lower right. Framed. David Davidovich Burliuk was a poet, artist and publicist associated with the Futurist and Neo Primitivist movements. At the outbreak of World War I, the artist fled to Siberia then Japan before relocating to New York in 1922. His works are held in the collections of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, D.C., and the State Russian Museum in St. Petersburg, among others.
