Lot 0095: EVGENY ESAULENKO RUSSIAN MIXED MEDIA PAINTING OF FISH
Evgeny Nikolaevich Esaulenko, Russian, 1942 to 1987, a mixed media painting on paper depicting a fish. The artwork is abstract and features geometric shapes and bold colors. Signed and dated 1980, upper right. Matted and framed by a gilded ornate frame. Evgeny Nikolaevich Yesaulenko was born in Krasnodar, and received his primary art education in Moscow. In the early 1960s, he moved to Leningrad, where in 1961 he joined the Leningrad Joint Committee of Graphic Artists at the Trade Union of Cultural Workers. Yesaulenko became a prominent figure of the Gazanevschina generation and one of the organizers of the famous Bulldozer Exhibition in 1974. Provenance: Estate of Eric Jansson, Roswell, Georgia.
