The original painting is titled Sleeping Model and was painted in 1941. Zinaida Evgenyevna Serebyakova was among the first prominent Russian female painters. She came from the Benois artistic family and later joined the Mir Iskusstva movement. She first came to prominence in 1910 with the exhibition of her celebrated self-portrait Woman at the Mirror, State Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow. One of a kind artwork.
