A modernist terracotta polar bear sculpture by Margot Kempe, 1898 to 1981, a German-American sculptor. The sculpture depicts a polar bear standing on its hind legs. Raised on a rectangular wooden base. Signed by Kempe on the hind leg. A paper label inscribed, Margo Kempe, attached to the bottom. Fleeing from the Nazis, the family of Margot Kempe went to South America, living in Ecuador for nine years.
