A vintage Russian Soviet oil on canvas painting after Vasily Nikolaevich Basov. Circa the late 20th century. The painting depicts a genre scene in the style of socialist realism of communication between Vladimir Ilyich Lenin and the peasants of the village of Shushenskoye. The original painting was created in 1954. Provenance: Purchased at Claydon Auctioneers, Middle Claydon, United Kingdom, Nov 10, 2017. Vasily Nikolaevich Basov, 1918 to 1962, Moscow, was a Soviet artist and laureate of the Stalin Prize, 1951. His works are kept in the State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow. The painting V.I. Lenin and the Peasants of the Village of Shushenskoye is depicted on a Soviet postage stamp from 1955. The stamp is not included. Russian Soviet Fine Art, Socialist Realism, and Collectibles.
