A decorative Chinese carved stone figure of Budai (Laughing Buddha), shown seated with exposed belly and flowing robes. Carved from pale green serpentine (“new jade”), the stone displays a soft waxy lustre with natural colour variation and gently modelled facial and robe details typical of late 20th-century Chinese decorative carvings. Good pre-owned condition overall with no cracks or repairs. Natural inclusions, tonal variation and minor surface wear are present, with small hand-carving marks and slight uneven polish. Base shows expected workshop grinding marks consistent with serpentine figures of this type.
