A stunning 19th-century Venetian mosaic glass bowl, executed in the Grand Tour taste. The heavy, shallow bowl is crafted to faithfully replicate 1st-century Roman antiquities. It is formed from fused mosaic glass canes featuring a deep brownish-purple ground with swirling, opaque white spiral threads. The exterior is deeply ribbed in the traditional ancient "pillar-molded" form, with the ribs meeting at the base in a stylized rosette pattern.
