A finely crafted Imperial 19th century Russian silver gilt beaker with niello decoration in the Neo Russian or Pan Slavic manner. The body is decorated with niello architectural medallions depicting Russian church views, framed by scrolling niello ornament. The original gilt interior creates a striking contrast with the dark exterior decoration. A central monogrammed cartouche suggests a presentation or commemorative purpose. A refined and highly decorative example of 19th century Imperial Russian silver. Executed in Moscow, 1872, with the makers mark and assay mark, and a Russian Silver standard hallmark.
