Signed and dated 1972 lower left. Unframed. Alexander Tyshler was a Russian Soviet painter and stage designer. According to the artist himself, his paintings and graphic works are distinguished by 'an ironic tinge, a plastic paradox, and the grotesque.' The images and compositions of the artist's main series are symbolic human constructions that refer the viewer to the principles of commedia dell arte.
