A rectangular decorative frame designed in the French Louis XV manner, featuring swept rails and prominent scrolling acanthus leaf cartouches at the corners and mid sections. The piece is constructed with molded gesso over a wooden substrate, finished in a traditional gold toned gilding. Its elaborate openwork design includes pierced elements and undulating edges characteristic of Rococo inspired revival styles.
